Crafting Motifs And Where To Find Them.

When I first started out in ESO I had zero clues about how many motifs were actually out there, let alone where I could get my hands on them. So I figured this information would prove useful to people who may not enjoy scouring the internet to find a reliable source of information :D This guide is intended to provide you with a complete list of all the motifs currently available, and also where you can get your hands on them if RNGesus is smiling benevolently at you. :D

RACIAL MOTIFS :

Altmer Style, Dunmer Style, Bosmer Style, Nord Style, Breton Style, Redguard Style, Khajiit Style, Orc Style, Argonian Style

All of these can be found as crafting books within containers (backpacks, wardrobes, drawers, desks etc) out in the world

Imperial Style

This too can be found out in the world within containers, however, it is a gold motif book and is a much rarer drop than the previous books mentioned above.

RARE MOTIFS:

Ancient Elf, Barbaric, Primal, Daedric
All of these can be found as crafting books within containers (backpacks, wardrobes, drawers, desks etc) out in the world. While not as rare as the Imperial Style motif, they are still rarer than the other racial books and therefore will be slightly harder to find.

Dwemer

These chapters (or rarely the entire book) can be looted from Dwemer pots and Dwemer urns, usually found in Dwemer Ruins (though they can be found in other locations).

Glass:

The Glass Motif can now be purchased from Rolis Hlaalu, the Mastercraft Mediator with Writ Vouchers

Akaviri:

These chapters can only be bought from War Researchers in Cyrodiil using Alliance Points

Mercenary:

These chapters (or rarely the entire book) are a possible reward for completing daily Undaunted pledges, with Bronze, Silver, and Gold chests all having a high chance of containing a chapter.

Yokudan:

These chapters (or rarely the entire book) can be found by completing repeatable Craglorn quests.

Ra Gada:

These chapters (or rarely the entire book) can be found by completing Focus Points (formerly named Group Events), and very rarely found by killing Delve and World Bosses, opening locked Treasure Chests, or following Treasure Maps in Craglorn.

Soul Shriven:

The Soul-Shriven Style is a crafting skill that can only be learned by completing Cadwell's Silver. Once Cadwell's Silver is complete, you will receive a mail containing the motif book, and some Azure Plasm based on the number of unique dolmens that you have cleared.

Ebony:

These chapters (or the entire book) can be bought from Rolis Hlaalu using Writ Vouchers.

ORSINIUM

Ancient Orc Style:

These chapters (or rarely the entire book) are rarely dropped by enemies in Old Orsinium and Rkindaleft. The chapters are split evenly between the two dungeons, necessitating the exploration of both to complete the full set.

  • Old Orsinium bosses drop: Bows, Boots, Chests, Daggers, Gloves, Maces, Swords
  • Rkindaleft bosses drop: Axes, Belts, Helmets, Legs, Shields, Shoulders, Staves

Trinimac Style:

The chapters can be found by completing Orsinium daily delve quests. There are 5 daily quests in total and it's possible to do all 5 in one day to maximise your rewards and chances of getting the motifs. Try asking in guild for like-minded people and one person at a time accept a quest, share with the group, complete the quest and turn it in. Then a second person accepts the daily quests, shares with the group, completes the quest and turns it in etc. :)

Malacath Style:

The chapters can be found in the Wrothgar Daily Contract Recompense boxes obtained by completing Orsinium daily World Boss quests. The same method as above can be used for obtaining 5 daily quest rewards :)

CLOCKWORK CITY MOTIFS:

Ebonshadow:

Chapters of this style are found by completing Daily Quests in Clockwork City that aid the Brass Fortress and combat Clockwork foes

Bloodforge:

This motif drops from defeating Earthgore Amalgam, the final boss of the Bloodroot Forge dungeon. This requires the Horns of the Reach DLC. The chance of obtaining Chapters and Style Items increases with the difficulty of the dungeon.

And that concludes our adventure into the world of motifs and where to find them. I haven't listed Motifs available during Events or Motifs available exclusively in the crown store purely because they are only available at certain times of the year.
Happy Hunting :)

No problem! :D I know our intention is to share knowledge to help our playerbase grow in knowledge, and I figured this would be a good place to start :D It's one of the easiest ways to make money and not everyone may be aware of it :)
